CHANDIGARH, Sept 5: The city police have made elaborate arrangements for the security of five centres where electronic machines are to be kept till the counting of votes is done. According to Superindent of Police (headquarters) Baldev Singh, four sentries and 14 personnel of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) will be deployed at each of the five centres. Each of the centre has been put under the charge of a deputy superintendent of police, who will be assisted by a sub-inspector and two guards.

The sub-divisional police officers, station house officer (SHO) and the emergency officer (EO) have been instructed to make a round of the centre in their respective area.

Meanwhile, all sub-inspectors of Indian Reserve Battalion (IRB) have been posted back from the counting centres. Baldev Singh said that earlier IRB officers were deployed but now that there are adequate forces, they are being sent back.
