NEW DELHI, May 2: The four Indians who made the cut in the Omega Tour8217;s 200,000 Macau Open had a disappointing third round, today. Arjun Singh and Arjun Atwal who were sharing the 12th spot after the second round returned poor cards to slip down the board. Arjun Singh carded three over 74 to go down to 22nd, while Atwal had a disastrous six over 77 to be joint 37th, according to information received here.

Vivek Bhandari was joint 50 with a 74 today for an aggregate of 11 over 224. Amritinder Singh, meanwhile, played nine over 80 to share the 65th spot.It was a day of a rookie pro Venezuelan Gilberto Morales who took the lead after the third round. Morales, the only player still under the card, sunk four birdies and three bogeys for a one under 70 and has a cumulative score of one under going into the final round tommorow. Following him is Taiwan8217;s Lu Wen-teh who had a one over 72.

Third-placed Chen Lian-hsi Taiwan, who made headlines in 1993 when he defeated Nick Faldo in the finals of the AlfredDunhill Cup, established a new course record of four under 67. The three-time Taiwan PGA Order of Merit winner fired five birdies and a solitary bogey going out with a three under 32 and returning with a one under 35.

But the six-time Major champion, tied for the 22nd spot with a six over par, has so far only managed two birdies and an eagle in 54 holes so far. Fellow US PGA Tour player Vijay Singh fared comparitively better after he had five bogeys and three birdies for a one over 72 to be joint 14th which is six shots behind Morales.

Leader Morales, a former University of Nevada player, went out in a two under 33 and returned with a one over 37. The 21-year-old won the 1992 Optimist World Junior Championships beating Tiger Woods by three shots.

Overnight leader Zhang Lian-wei of China suffered a strained back on the fifth hole and was in the joint fourth place with a card of three over 74.
