Whether or not the selectors want him as captain, Sourav Ganguly is definitely the choice of the majoirty of average fans who want the former skipper back in the hot seat. According to an opinion poll conducted by NDTV across the four metros and a viewers’ poll on the channel’s website and via SMS, Ganguly still rules the hearts when it comes to leading the side — 58.7 per cent favouring him as captain of both the Test and ODIs. In comparison, 21 per cent polled for Dhoni, currently leading India in the Twenty20 World Cup, while 20.3 per cent for Tendulkar, who has been reportedly sounded out for the job.
