PUNE, July 30: The Pune Municipal Corporation has initiated the process of amending the development control DC rules to provide .5 FSI for the projects related to information technology in agricultural zone with an intention of promoting the software industry.
The civic administration decided to initiate the process as per the provisions made under section 37 of Maharashtra Regional Town Planning Act after receiving directives from the State Government.
The State Government had directed the civic administration to provide .5 FSI for projects relating to information technology in agricultural zone in consideration of the new Information Technology policy of the Central Government.
As per the laid down norms, the civic administration is likely to issue a notification asking people to submit their suggestions and objections to the proposed amendment of DC rules within a week.
The proposal about amending the DC rules would be sent for the State Government8217;s consent after Pune Municipal Corporation8217;s general body approves it.
As per the directives, private industries will be given .5 FSI in agricultural zone for projects relating to information technology. The government and semi-government organisations including MHADA, SEEPZ, MIDC and SICOM would be given additional FSI.
The restrictions on height of rooms will also be lifted for such projects and the area covered by antennas will be excluded from the provisions made under the DC rules. Similar concessions would be given in areas having roads wider than 12 meters too.
According to the civic officials, such concessions would help in forming a separate software zone in Pune and promote the projects relating to the information technology.
