Plea on admissions

Education officers should be deputed to verify the system being followed by colleges in Thane, BJP leader Om Prakash Sharma demanded on Thursday.

In a memorandum to the chief minister, he pointed to irregularities during admission. As a result, deserving candidates are turned away. Till recently, the Zilla Parishad ZP Education Office used to allot admission to unsuccessful candidates but following a court judgement, the ZP has been providing only guidance on admission matters.
