
Former JD MLA joins Samata
PATNA: The Samata Party in Bihar on Friday received a boost when former Janata Dal MLA Jagdish Chaudhary joined it. Chaudhary, elected four times to the State Assembly since 1977, joined Samata Party in presence of its general secretary, Shivanand Tiwari. Chaudhary was denied JD nomination in 1995 assembly polls.

NEW DELHI: The Himachal unit of the Samajwadi Janata Party today indicated that it would have a broad alliance8217; with Congress in the state to ensure defeat of communal forces8217; and corrupt elements8217; in the coming Assembly polls. Party state chief B D Lakhanpal said talks had been initiated with the Congress at national and state levels for a broader understanding.
Left manifesto
AGARTALA: The ruling Left Front in Tripura has said if voted back to power it would ask the Centre to seal the country8217;s border with Bangladesh and take up the issue of cracking down on insurgents. The Front, in its nine-page manifesto, released on Thursday, said it would also provide a rehabilitation package to bring back the 8220;misguided youths8221;.
