CHANDIGARH, Dec 18: Various political parties have flayed the Chandigarh Administration for what they term as its quot;anti-policequot; role.

In separate press releases issued here today, the Samajwadi Janata Party, the Samajwadi Party and the Janata Party while criticising the Administration have condemned the Administration for interfering in the functioning of the local police force. They fear the same might prove detrimental for the law and order situation in the city.

SJP president Devinder Singh Babla, Samajwadi Party president Shivi Jaiswal and Janata Party president Ajay Jagga have also demanded the revocation of the suspension of a suspended police official after seeking a fresh enquiry by a judicial officer.

Meanwhile, the Federation of Residents Welfare Societies has condemned the UT Administration for suspending DSP Central Surjit Singh. Describing the action as quot;harshquot;, federation president Jatinder Bhatia said, quot;The treatment to a hard and honest worker like him will demoralise other officers.quot;
