Jan 28: Former Thomas Cupper Partho Ganguly ended Hubert Miranda’s uninterrupted three-year run in the Veteran National Badminton Championship at Bombay Gymkhana today.

Partho, in his first year as a veteran, outlasted the 51-year-old from Reserve Bank in a 50-minute three-game drainer to annex the men singles title.

Partho completed a double when, pairing with fellow Thomas Cupper Pradeep Gandhe, he claimed the men’s doubles (45+) title.
