Pak JeM suicide bombers arrested in Jammu

Three arrested Pak-based JeM terrorists, including a serving soldier of Pakistani army, had planned to launch a suicide attack in JK.

Breaking a major terror plan of Pakistani based Jaish-e-Mohammad JeM militant outfit in India, Jammu and Kashmir Police have arrested three Jaish terrorists including a serving Pakistani army jawan from a hotel, days before they gave final shape to their Fidayeen attack in Jammu.

Director General of Police, Kuldeep Khoda informed media persons in Jammu on Tuesday that all three arrested terrorists belonged to Jaish militant cadre and had checked in Samrat Hotel near General Bus Stand in Jammu City with fake identities. The DGP identified the terrorists as Gulam Fareed, son of Mohammad Shafi of village Ruperi, district Bhimber in Pakistan occupied Kashmir PoK and serving in Pakistani army as a sepoy in 10 Azad Kashmir Regiment. He had joined Pakistani army in year 2001 and was allotted belt number 4319184.

DGP Khoda further said that the other two terrorists have been identified as Mohammad Abdullah son of Mohammad Zareen of village Serian in district Haripur, North West Frontier Province in Pakistan and Mohammad Imran son of Abdul Gaffar of 8 Dera Nawab, Yajmaan Mandi district Bahawalpur Punjab in Pakistan. They both got trained in Islamic studies at a Madrassa run by Mufti Abdul Rouf, younger brother of JeM chief Maulana Azhar Masood in Rawalpindi town.

8220;In August 2008 they got orders from their high command to report at Karachi based office adjoining Muleer army cantonment and they got fake passports and visa,8221; the DGP said and added, 8220;On September 1, 2008 they left for Bangladesh via air, then a Pakistani agent in Dhaka received and shifted them to Khulna in Bangladesh for three months.8221;

DGP Khoda informed that on December 15 they started their journey from Khulna and sneaked into India with the help of a guide and on December 18 they boarded the Jammu Tawi express from Kolkata railway station. 8220;On December 20 they reached Jammu along with a guide and they booked a room in Hotel Shanker near the Jammu railway station but in the evening they got instructions to shift to the other hotel and they checked in to Hotel Samrat, from where they were arrested on Saturday afternoons.

8220;State police8217;s Special Operation Group SOG have arrested them and during interrogation they revealed that they were waiting for weaponry and directions from another guide for a major Fidayeen attack at some important spots in Jammu city prior to seventh phase of assembly elections on December 24,8221; DGP added.
