Fresh 8216;n8217; fab !
It was the big day for the freshers of the Government College for Girls, Sector 42. A colourful function was organised by the seniors of the college in the hostel to formally welcome the new8217; entrants. It was an evening for fun, cheer, dance and songs for the young ladies who were far away from home. There were a number of girls from Ladakh who participated in the programme and displayed lot of talent in dancing. The hit8217; song of the evening was Chaiyan Chaiyan8217;. The other items in the programme were a very lively bhangra8217; on pop music, and semi-classical dances.

There were 65 aspirants for the Miss Fresher title. And why not, it is one of the prized title for a hosteler. Dressed in their Sunday best the girls displayed a lot of confidence and poise in the fashion parade. And it was definitely a tough choice for the judges to choose from so many pretty and talented lasses.

Mohini Sharma, the college principal was the Chief guest and was visibly pleased by the immense efforts.

Fifteen girls were selected for the question-answer round out of which three were chosen as winners. Shivani Thakur was chosen as Miss Fresher, while Monica was adjudged as the first runners up. Bindya Garg walked away with the second-runners up award. Saudamini Bist was the Pretty Face, and the Miss Elegant title went to Jasreen Sidhu.
