
PUNE, Dec 2: The Pune Kanda Batata Kharedidar Sanghatana has welcomed the Centre8217;s decision to allow export of 1 lakh tons of onion.
In a press release issued here today, sanghatana president Pravin Raysoni has predicted that the prices of onion in the markets at Pune, Chakan and Nashik will range between Rs 300 and Rs 350 per quintal after January 15 since the production of onion in the State has almost doubled this year.
While expecting that the onion prices would come down to the range of Rs 200 and 250 in April and May, Raysoni demanded that the government should allow free export of onion for the next five years.
