VADODARA, August 23: The Regional Chemical Laboratory RCL, ONGC, Vadodara has taken the initiative to conceptualize globalisation efforts of ONGC by highlighting its technical capabilities so as to mobilise more revenues and optimise resources. A detailed technical information brochure of RCL was released by N Lal Executive Director of ONGC, Western Region in presence of Daljit Singh, Group General Manager Exploration, R S Dinesh, Group General Manager Chemistry and other senior officers of the Western Region, Vadodara last week.

Youth Parliament: The Regional Round of the 11th Youth Parliament under the guidance of the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs will be held at ONGC Kendriya Vidyalaya on August 24. More than 240 students from Kendriya Vidyalayas of ONGC, EME, Ankleshwar and Kribhco, Surat will take part in the Mock Parliamentary Sessions. The various programmes such as Question Hour, No Confidence Motion, will be conducted to create awareness among youths about the functioning of the Parliament. Former MP and ex-president of All-India Youth Congress Satyajit Gaekwad will be the chief guest and judge, while G K Gupta, Group General Manager Pamp;A and Chairman of Vidyalaya Management Committee will preside over the function.

Cultural Programme: To make the completion of 50 years of India8217;s independence and to commemorate the birth centenary of Bengali Poet Nazrul and the death anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore, a cultural programme Shravan Sandhya was organised at the ONGC Community Hall. A K Mandal, General Manager operations and president of Dakshin Baroda Sanskriti Prishad was the chief guest on the occasion.

Officers qualify for course: Three officers of ONGC Central Workshop Bhupinder Singh, superintending engineer mechanical Bishwanath Dey, superintending engineer mechanical and Ratnesh Kumar, executive engineer mechanical have successfully qualified for the ISO-9000 Lead Assessor Course approved by M/S Alan A Griffin Associates UK Ltd. This course enables the officers to carry out auditing assessment and registration of quality management system, ISO-9000 for firms adopting quality system conforming to ISO-9000.

Elected: Alok Joshi, Manager Pamp;A of ONGC Regional Office, Vadodara has been elected for the second time as executive member Western Region of the National Council of NIPM for the year 1998-99.
