CHANDIGARH, Nov 23: A resident of Kinnaur district was today jailed for one month and fined Rs 1,000 after he banged a jeep into the roundabout adjoining Kajheri village allegedly in a drunken state today.

According to the police, Yatin Narbu, was driving a jeep bearing a Himachal Pradesh registration number, when it crashed into the roundabout. A medical examination revealed that he was 8220;under the influence of liquor,8221; area SHO B.S. Chadha said.

Narbu was booked under the Motor Vehicle Act and convicted to one month8217;s imprisonment and fined Rs 1,000 by the area Magistrate, police said.
