ROHTAK, June 10: Durga Yadav, president of nurses association declared TODAY that the nurses of Pandit Bhagwat Dayal Sharma PGIMS will greet the ministers with black flags.

The striking nurses narrated their woeful tale and the behaviour meted out to them at the Chandigarh meeting. Durga said, 8220;they lack courage to take the issue with the Chief Minister, ministers want to continue in office caring little about the problems of the people8221;. Kamla Singh, a senior functionary of the association said 8220;our prestige is at stake8230; We are fighting a battle of now or never8221;.

The nursing sisters and nurses who had resume duty nearly a week ago held a meeting today and served a notice on Director D.S. Dubey that they would join the striking sisters from tomorrow if the government failed to accede to their demands. This has given a much needed boost to the stir. Admitted a leader, Sumitra, who alongwith her supporters sat on dharna today.

The Haryana government plea to withdraw the agitation first to create a congenial atmosphere for holding talks was rejected the leaders of striking nurses yesterday. 8220;It is like a sugar-coated pill8221;, said Durga Yadav.

Sarv Karamchari Sangh has called an emergency meeting of the leaders on June 13 and 14 at Hisar to chalk out their future strategy in view of nurses8217; strike. It may be recalled that Sarv Karamchari Sangh and its affiliated units have extended its support to their stir.

Meanwhile, the condition of general secretary of nurses8217; association Santosh Hooda is said to be deteriorating.

SONEPAT:
Nursing staff of the district continued their strike for the 11 th day today. The striking nurses held a demonstration and a rally and shouted slogans against the Bansi government. The rally was addressed by leaders of the nursing staff association and the Sarv Karamchari Sangh Haryana. They also supported the demands of the agitating nurses and urged Chief Minister Bansi Lal to end the nurses agitation through negotiations.

Meanwhile, Howa Singh, president of the district committee of the CITU condemned the anti-employee attitude of the Bansi Lal government and warned that the government would not succeed in crushing the nurses agitation through repression let loose on them.

PANIPAT:
Some nurses lead by Usha Malik, district president staff nursing association met Haryana Health Minister Om Prakash and asked him to implement their demands. Mahajan evaded any commitment, saying only the Committee nominated by the cabinet was competent to decide.

Not satisfied with his reply, the nurses raised slogans against the minister and the government.
