
Expressing confidence that the Indo-US nuclear deal would be cleared by the Senate, Richard A Boucher said the agreement would be implemented in its 8220;true spirit8221; by President George W Bush after its approval. 8220;The deal had given birth to a new relationship,8221; he said at the Indian Chamber of Commerce. Boucher said he was hopeful the deal would be approved by the Senate although it had expressed concerns about certain provisions, which envisaged US shipments of nuclear fuel and technology to India for its nuclear installations that would be subject to inspections.
