CHANDIGARH, Oct 31: All India Crime Prevention Society president and chief executive Avtar Singh Matharoo flayed the city police for not participating in the seminar on quot;Police-Public Relationship: Possibilities and Challengesquot; held here on Saturday.

Addressing mediapersons here today, Matharoo said it was unfortunate that the quot;police agreed to participate, but backed out later, without caring to know that a case against an individual was not a case against the organisation which is preparing the people to cooperate with the police in preventing crimequot;.

The society8217;s quot;executive presidentquot;, J. Kaushal, was also present at the conference. Among those who participated were in the seminar were city MP Pawan Kumar Bansal, former union minister Harmohan Dhawan and former IGP of Joint Punjab, B.S. Danewalia, said the society8217;s release.
