CHENNAI, May 2: The Bahujan Samaj Party chief Kanshi Ram has ruled out any electoral alliance with either the Congress or the BJP in the next Lok Sabha elections but maintained that his party would strive for tie-ups with other parties in areas other than its stronghold8217;.

Replying to queries by newsmen at Chennai airport on Sunday before leaving for Delhi, he said since the party was strong in UP and surrounding areas it would contest the polls on its own in these areas. 8220;In areas where we are weak we will try for alliances. But it will not be with the Congress or the BJP,8221; he said. Asked about his meeting with PMK leader Dr S Ramdoss at Tindivanam in Villupuram district this afternoon, he described it as both friendly and political. 8220;In future we would like to come together,8221; he added.
