
The second leg of the 2007 Asian Athletics Grand Prix will be held at the Sarusajai Stadium here on June 23 with around 200 athletes from 20 countries, including nine Olympians, scheduled to participate.
India8217;s ace long jumper Anju Bobby George, who did not figure in the Bangkok leg yesterday as her event was not on the schedule, will participate in the meet which has 22 events, organising secretary Pradip Buragohain said.
Some of the other Olympians are China8217;s Li Yanxi, Wu Tao, Wen Yongyi, Tong Xiaomei, Xue Juan, and Olga Tereshkova and Marina Aitova of Kazakhstan.
The third and final leg of the Asian Grand Prix will be held in Pune on June 27.
The Indian contingent at the meet comprises of 68 athletes, of which eight are from Assam.
Six countries 8212; Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, the Philippines, Syria, Tajikistan and Chinese Taipei 8212; will be represented by one athlete each, while United Arab Emirates will go unrepresented due to lack of qualifying athletes.
China will be represented by 29 athletes and Thailand by 23. A 12-member Singapore team arrived in the city here today.
