Need to upgrade tech institutions

Chandigarh, Aug 23: A two-day national workshop on quot;Effective Implementation of the Scheme of Community Polytechnics in India8221; began at the Technical Teachers8217; Training Institute here today.

Prof Ashok Chandra, Special Secretary, Education, delivered the inaugural address. He said the economic growth of the country was greatly dependent on technologyandstressed the need to upgrade technical institutions to churn out the requiste trained manpower.
