National Democratic Alliance (NDA) leaders today charged RJD supremo LalooPrasad Yadav with having “masterminded” the attack on JD-U president andUnion Civil Aviation Minister Sharad Yadav in Madhepura and called forimmediate removal of Madhepura district magistrate and policesuperintendent.

Addressing a joint press conference with JD-U leader Laxmi Sahu, oppositionleader in state assembly S K Modi and state BJP president Nand KishoreYadav, claimed that Sharad Yadav suffered injuries in his ankle and wrist inthe attack.

They said an estimated Rs 45 lakh was likely to be spent to repair thedamaged helicopter in which Sharad earlier today arrived in Madhepura forrefuelling.

“Out of sheer desperation RJD president is incensing his supporters totake recourse to violence,” Modi said alleging that Laloo was obviously“behind all such sinister design.”

Modi alleged that today’s attack was “a deliberate act to eliminate JD-Uleader Sharad Yadav.

He said NDA leaders including the Civil Aviation Minister had approachedthe Election Commission for immediate removal of “biased” districtmagistrate and police superintendent of Madhepura.

Meanwhile, the Sitamarhi district administration has instituted a caseagainst Sharad Yadav for allegedly violating the model code of conduct.

District magistrate-cum-district returning officer, Sitamarhi, SurendraSingh Meena told reporters here today that the JD(U) president arrived hereby a helicopter and addressed an election meeting "without priorpermission."

He said the district administration has instituted a case against Yadav forallegedly violating the model code of conduct.

Earlier, Laloo said his party would form government with the support ofCongress in the event of a hung-assembly.

Talking to pti here, Yadav, however, claimed that “the Rabri Devi ministrywill stage a comeback with thumping majority and thus it will not requiresupport from Congress."

He refuted the allegations that large-scale bungling had taken place indistribution of RJD tickets.
