Aug 4: The Ali Yavar Jung National Institute for the hearing impaired, Bandra will be celebrating its 14th annual day on August 8. The premier institute in the field of rehabilitation of the hearing impaired, was inaugurated on August 9, 1983. The main objectives of the institute are manpower development, clinical services, research, information and documentation. The Institute has so far evaluated more than two lakh hearing impaired people and trained more than 2000 volunteers to provide clinical and educational services.

Morcha
The Maharashtra Federation of University & College Teachers’ Organisations will be organising a morcha on August 5 from Azad Maidan to Mantralaya at 3 pm to highlight the problems of university and college teachers. Teachers from all nine non-agricultural colleges are expected to participate.The demands include: coverage of all categories of teachers by the pay revision, absorption of surplus teachers in the existing vacancies.
