Free medical check-up
The David Sassoon Library and Reading Room has organised a free medical check-up camp for members of the library and their families on the occasion of Foundation Day on February 21 between 10 am and 4 pm. The camp has been organised in co-ordination with the Enarde Foundation, the Family Planning and Medical Aid Trust and the Rotary Club of Mumbai. The services being extended include ECG, screening for TB, blood group detection and immunisation. A Hasya Kavya Sammelan will also be held in the evening. For details call at 2843703.
Ex-gratia for retired CR staff
The Central Railway will grant ex-gratia payment to the beneficiaries of the State Railways Provident Fund who retired from the CR between April 1, 1957 and December 31, 1985 at the rate of Rs 600 with effect from November 1, 1997. Achievement awards given
Litterateur and former editor of Hindi Digest Navneet, Girija Shankar Trivedi and multi-lingual letter writer Shyamlal Damani were bestowed with Achievement Awards8217; at a poetry session in Nala Sopara on Saturday. The function was jointly organised by Jana Chetana Manch, Prayas and Sahitya Sangam.
