MAVIM8217;s training centre

The Mahila Arthik Vikas Mahamandal Limited MAVIM intends to start a training centre in computer for women in association with non government organisations working in the field of women8217;s development. NGOs who have their own place to take up the training programme can submit their applications by 3 pm, May 31 giving details of location, experience in implementing computer training, placements, fee structure and course content. Applications can be sent to the Regional Manager, MAVIM, Griha Nirman Bhavan MHADA, Mezzanine floor, Kala Nagar, Bandra east, Mumbai-51.

Accessories exhibition

Kuntal R Shroff8217;s Gigi label is holding an exhibition of items such as colourful glass jewellry for children, tableware such as mats, napkins, covers, runners and napkin rings and personal accessories like necklaces, earrings, bracelets, bangles and hairclips or table linen. The creations are crafted from wood, glass, bone, leather and horn, and will be exhibited at the Cymroza ArtGallery, Bhulabhai Desai Road, from May 31 to June 4 between 10.30 am and 7.30 pm.

Service to disabled persons

The Chennai-based Ability Foundation has invited people to offer voluntary service for disabled persons. The foundation, which recently held its first meeting in the city, outlined several projects to be organised, including weekend workshops for disabled children, awareness on disability among school children and short-term training programmes to facilitate communication with the disabled. YMCA8217;s chess tournament

The Young Men8217;s Christian Association8217;s Navi Mumbai branch at Sector 8, CBD Belapur, will holding a lightning chess tournament on Sunday, May 30 at 9 am. The tournament will be open to four groups: Stds 1 to IV, V to VII, VII to X and Open. Spastic Society8217;s diploma course
