10-yr-old wins contest

Master Sayed Mustafa Husain 10 of St Peter8217;s English High School, Vasai, has won free air tickets in Discover Your India8217; contest organised by the Indian Airlines. He would be flying on his prize ticket to Lucknow accompanied by his father during the Diwali vacations. A student of the fourth standard, Mustafa has a flair for drawing and painting. Apart from his studies, Mustafa spends his time drawing or operating his personal computer.

St Xavier8217;s kids plant saplings

The St Xavier8217;s Group of Schools held a tree plantation programme at Borivli on Tuesday as part of its Vanamahotsav8217;. The group is planning to plant five lakh saplings this year, one lakh of which have already been planted. It was held under the sponsorship of Boman Irani of Rustomji Residency.

Personality development camp

The Institute of Military Physical and Cultural Training IMPACT, Dahanu, will be holding a training camp for those in the age group of 8-25 years. The camp willinclude training in horse-riding, shooting and self defence personality development and public speaking. The camp will be held from October 11 to November 8. Marathi journal for women

The Manas Group of Publications, which already has two Marathi journals under its belt, will be shortly launching Manas Times, an English eveninger. The target group is working women of Mumbai and Pune.

Chowpatty clean-up drive

World-wide Fund for Nature-India will be organising Girgaum Chowpatty Clean-Up Campaign8217; with the help of the BMC. It will be held on Saturday , between 7.30 am to 9.00 am, near the Farm Fair Food8217; stall.
