Awareness camp at Boisar

  • The Bombay Sarvodaya Mandal and Gandhi Smarak Nidhi are organising a social awareness camp for girls in the age group of 16-30 years at Santbalaji Ashram in Boisar. Lodging and boarding will be free of cost. The camp will have lectures by eminent social workers on gender equality, legal rights and economic independence.   • Diva-Panvel rake extended to Roha

  • The 1689/1694 Diva-Panvel DMU rake will be extended from Panvel to Roha from May 6 to June 15. The 1689 Diva-Panvel passenger will leave Panvel station at 10 am and halt at Rasayani, Apta, Hamarpur, Pen, Kasu, Nagothane, and will reach Roha at 12.15 pm. In the down direction, 1694 passenger train will leave Roha at 6 pm and halt at Nagothane, Kasu, Pen, Hamarpur, Apta, Rasayani and reach Panvel at 8.35 pm.
  • Adventure camps forchildren

  • The Adventure Kids Camp has organised two adventure camps for children at Matheran for the age group of 8-17 years from May 25. Activities like river crossing, horse riding, rifle shooting, rock climbing, night trekking and commando bridge will be taught to participants by experts.   • Scientific toys8217; exhibition

  • The Pune-based Gram Vidnyan Manch, working for the popularisation of science, has organised a five-day exhibition from Thursday at Dr Bedekar Vidyamandir, Vishnunagar, Thane w. The exhibition featuring, science-based toys and books in English and Marathi, will be on between 10.30 am and 8 pm.
  • Adult Education programme

  • A programme in extension education was recently conducted at NES Ratnam College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Bhandup. The chief guest was Dr Werner Mauch, Research Specialist, UNESCO Institute of Education, Hamburg, Germany. The NES founder president, Dr R Varadarajan, thanked DrMauch and Director of Adult and Continuing Education Dr R H Narang for visiting the college.
