Amitabh Bachchan agrees as Agastya Nanda says nani Jaya Bachchan is strict, says Big B ‘serious at home, doesn’t joke’

Kaun Banega Crorepati 17: Agastya Nanda said while grandmother Jaya Bachchan is strict, grandfather Amitabh Bachchan is way more serious at home and he has rarely seen his fun side.

On the latest episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati 17, megastar Amitabh Bachchan was seen teasing his grandson Agastya Nanda as he along with the team of Ikkis took the hotseat. While the episode had its share of fun and emotional moments, Big B was seen pulling grandson Agastya Nanda’s leg on several instances. The megastar will also got emotional remembering Sholay co-star Dharmendra, who passed away in November last year.

Agastya Nanda was asked to choose his favorite grandparent

In the latest episode of KBC 17, Amitabh was seen having fun when his grandson Agastya Nanda was put in a spot by fans. A member of the audience asked Agastya how Amitabh Bachchan is different in front of the camera. Agastya shared, “Nanu is very different when he comes here; at home, he is very serious. I am seeing this excitement and his fun side for the first time. I am actually enjoying this.” Another audience member also put Agastya in a spot when she asked him about his favourite between grandma Jaya Bachchan and grandfather Amitabh. While a puzzled Agastya asked if he could use a lifeline, Big B said, “Phas gaye bhaisaab (you are in a mess),” as the girl went on to ask another question, Big B interrupted her and said, “No, not a second question, I want to know the answer to this.”

Agastya’s co-star Jaideep Ahlawat also added, “If you want to get beaten in the vanity take Jayaji’s name, but if you want to get beaten at home, then take Big B sir’s name.” Later, Agastya said that his nani Jaya Bachchan is stricter. Big B jokingly said, “Continue, bilkul sahi hai yeh.”

Amitabh Bachchan pays a tribute to Dharmendra

Sriram Raghavan directed Ikkis, which is Dharmendra’s last film released in theaters on 1st January 2026. As the film’s team will be seen promoting the film on Kaun Banega Crorepati 17, Amitabh Bachchan will also pay a tribute to the late Dharmendra. Amitabh remembered his Sholay co-star while talking about about their bond, “The film Ikkis is like a precious memory for us, which Dharmendra left behind for crores of his fans. An artist wants to worship his craft till his last breath, and that’s what my friend, my family member, my ideal – Dharmendra Deolji did. He was not just a person; he was an emotion. He lives in our memories, our prayers, and will always be.”

Sriram Raghvan also added, ” I feel very blessed that the last film he worked in was mine; he is extraordinary in it.” Jaideep Ahlawat said, ” I feel very lucky that most of his scenes in the film are with me. Whenever he was on set, it never felt like such a huge star was around; he felt like a part of our family.” Amitabh Bachchan also went on to recall an incident from Sholay’s climax. He shared, “We were shooting in Bangalore, and he was blessed with a great physique, one day I got to know his real strength. In one of Sholay’s scenes where I am supposed to die, I am seen struggling, and that was because he was holding me so tight. That was very natural acting from me.”

Directed by Sriram Raghavan, Ikkis revolves around the life of 2nd Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, who was the youngest Param Vir Chakra recipient. The film was initially slated to release on 25th December; however, the makers decided to postpone the film’s release by a week, following the Dhurandhar wave at the box office. Ikkis also stars Jaideep Ahlawat in an important role.
