Literary workshop
The revenue departments8217; annual literary workshop will be hosted by the chief commissioner of Income Tax, B Mishra from Nov 23. The three-day programme, to be held at Lonavala , will be attended by 35 writers from the revenue departments of Customs, Central Excise and Income Tax. The theme is The Role of the Writer 8212; Crisis of sensitivity 8212; Challenges of the 21st century8217;. The workshop will be inaugurated by R K Pathania, chief commissioner of I-T, III.

Earth is India8217;s Oscar entry
Deepa Mehta8217;s Earth will represent India in the Oscars this year. Produced by Jhamu Sugandh, it stars Aamir Khan, Rahul Khanna, Nandita Das, Kitu Gidwani and Arif Zakaria and has been scored by A R Rahman. The film relates the trauma of the Partition through the eyes of an eight-year-old Parsi girl.

Parenting workshop
A Workshop on effective parenting will take place on Nov 10 at the Bandra Hindu Association, Dr K B Hedgewar Marg, Bandra from 10.30 am to 2 pm. Registration at venue at 10 am.
