Mumbai once again failed to break the old jinx against Maharashtra today, as they fell short by 15 runs at the Wankhede Stadium and had to settle for a draw. The visitors, by the virtue of their first innings lead, went home with three points.

With the hosts resuming on 390 for 7 and needing 61 runs more to take the first innings lead, the overnight batsman Ramesh Powar and Vinayak Samant went back early. Powar, who was batting on 102, added four runs more. After those two quick wickets, Mumbai8217;s last hopes were the tailenders 8212; debutant Murtuza Hussain 16 and Avishkar Salvi, but they did not last long and fell short by 15 runs of Maharashtra8217;s 451.
