1. Kamakhya (Guwahati)–Rohtak: Temples, ghats And epic landscapes

This route begins at the mystical Kamakhya Temple, perched atop Nilachal Hill, known for its tantric rituals and spiritual aura. En route, travellers can pause in Varanasi, where evening Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat is an unmissable spectacle. The journey ends in Rohtak, a gateway to Kurukshetra, where Mahabharata-linked tanks, museums and pilgrimage circuits bring ancient legends alive.

2. Dibrugarh–Lucknow (Gomti Nagar): Tea Trails To Awadhi Feasts

Starting in Dibrugarh, the heart of Assam’s tea country, this route offers misty plantations and Brahmaputra river cruises. The train goes via Patna, where travellers can explore the 18th-century Golghar and nearby cave sites. The route ends at Lucknow, the UNESCO-recognised gastronomical wonder, where you can enjoy the delicious Tunday Kababs, sweets, and more. Do not forget to visit the iconic Bada and Chota Imaam Bada,  Roomi Darwaza, and the iconic parks.

3. New Jalpaiguri–Nagercoil: From Toy Trains To The Southern Tip

One of the longest and most scenic routes of the Amrit Bharat Express trains, this journey starts near Darjeeling, where a detour for the UNESCO-listed toy train and Tiger Hill sunrise is totally worth it. Further south, Bhubaneswar’s Lingaraj Temple and Chilika Lake’s migratory birds can offer both cultural and natural getaways. The route ends near Kanyakumari, where three seas meet at Vivekananda Rock Memorial.

4. New Jalpaiguri–Tiruchirappalli: Temple Trails Across India

Connecting the Himalayan foothills to Tamil Nadu’s temple towns, this route passes through Odisha’s heritage belt before arriving in Tiruchirappalli. Highlights include the dramatic Rock Fort Temple and the vast Srirangam island shrine, one of the largest functioning temple complexes in the world.

6. Alipurduar–Mumbai (Panvel): Tea gardens to the Arabian Sea

7. Santragachi (Kolkata)–Tambaram: Culture from East to South
