Computer experts all over the country will deliberate and discuss on several issues related to the Internet, its functioning and governance at the second annual Internet summit to be held here this week. The summit will be inaugurated on Wednesday and is being organised by the Indian Merchants8217; Chamber IMC. Internet experts will cover the areas of Internet technologies and trends in India, as well as latest areas of technical advances, issues affecting internet web, electronic commerce and future of the net. The summit which is jointly being organised with the multinet Infosys Private Ltd, will have speakers from Indian Institute of Technology, Powai, NCST, IBM, Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, and Indira Gandhi Institute for Development and Research.
Rs 19 lakh forex seized
The Customs Air Intelligence Unit AIU at Sahar airport seized foreign currency worth over Rs 19 lakh concealed in the toilet of an Air-India aircraft Himalaya8217; bound for Dubai on January9.
Earlier on January 8, foreign currency worth over Rs 6 lakh was seized from two passengers. Both passengers have been arrested and further investigations are in progress. AIU has seized foreign currency worth Rs 98 lakh in 13 separate cases in last 40 days.
Trader robbed
In a housebreaking incident of , over Rs 2 lakh was stolen from the residence of a Vile Parle businessman. Police sources said the complainant, 47-year-old businessman Pradeep Balmaya has said cash and jewellery worth Rs 2.13 lakh was stolen from his flat while he and his family was holidaying at Matheran during the weekend.
