Bail rejected in Sairaj case
The bail plea of 75-year-old Kantabai Chavan, one of the owners of the plot which was handed over for construction of Sairaj building, Thane, was rejected by Thane Additional Sessions judge B M Sardeshpande today. The Sairaj crash in November claimed 17 lives. Public prosecutor R J Kadri said power of attorney which the applicant claims to have given to her son had been given for illegal work. Her plea should be rejected on this ground alone, he argued.
