
MAHABLESHWAR, Dec 1: The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation MSRTC has decided to recruit 4,000 drivers selected in the past.
The decision was taken at the board of directors meeting held here recently.
Briefing the media persons, Shivajirao Gotad and Chandrakant Vaidya, MSRTC president and vice-president of the corporation, respectively, said the drivers should be sent immediately for training so that their services could be utilised by the ST corporation during the forthcoming travel season.
The meeting which was also attended by senior officials of the MSRTC corporation considered various ways to overcome the present financial crisis and to provide maximum facilities to the passengers. For this purpose, the meeting has entrusted specific responsibilities to the respective head of departments. Among those who were present at the meeting included managing director Ashokrao Khot, directors Vijay Mathankar, A K Srivastav, M N Mathur, S P Gupta and Haumant Tathe.
