Mother-son duo attempt suicide

A mother and son attempted suicide on Friday by consuming a bottle of insecticide in the premises of the Shivajinagar district and sessions court.

A mother and son attempted suicide on Friday by consuming a bottle of insecticide in the premises of the Shivajinagar district and sessions court.

They have been identified as Rahibai Haribhau Johri 55 and her son Laxman Haribhau Johri, 30. The incident occurred around 5 pm, outside court number four.

The duo has been fighting a land dispute case in the civil court for the last twenty years and was apparently stressed over the delay in reaching a verdict. Both of them were rushed to Sassoon General Hospital where they are undergoing treatment.

A case of attempted suicide has been lodged at the Shivajinagar police station. According to sources, Rahibai is recovering while her son is in a critical condition.
