July 21: A hat-trick by Monil Batra was the highlight of St Xavier8217;s Boys Academy8217;s 5-0 triumph over Robert Money in the under-16 III-B group of the Inter-School Football League at the MSSA-Castrol Schools Sports Centre, Azad maidan, today.

Vicky Bathija and Rahul Bhatnagar were the other goal-getters for Xavier8217;s.The day8217;s top scorer was Bejoy Malaikal, who scored four in St Stanislaus8217; 5-2 victory over St Mary8217;s ISC in the under-16 I-D pool at the St Xavier8217;s ground, Parel.

Edmund Misquitta notched the other goal for the winners, while Adrian Mascarenhas and Shivam Vidya reduced the margin for Mary8217;s. St Anne8217;s Orlem registered the tallest victory of the day when they drubbed St John8217;s Marol 13-0. The goal scorers for Anne8217;s were Adrian D8217;Souza Sr 3, Adrian D8217;Souza Jr 2, Glen D8217;Souza 2, Sneedon Pereira 2, Savio Nayak 2, Rohit Charles and Dylan D8217;Souza.

Packers defuse Tata Electric

Bandra Packers beat Tata Electric 2-0 in a Harwood League football match organised by Mumbai District Football Association MDFA at the St Xaviers Ground, Parel today.

After a goalless first-half, Bandra Packers came back strongly in the second. The first goal came in the 61st minute when Pascal Koli8217;s 35-yard shot from the right flank curved beautifully into the far corner of the Tata post. In the dying minutes a pass from Packers8217; forward Clarence Remedious sawSanjay Perreira strike from close range beating Tata custodian, Clarence Roberts.

Earlier in the day, Matunga Young beat Borivli Rangers 2-0 in a Division II B match. Mlaani Elimam scored both goals of the match.

Indulkar nets brace

A fine double by D Indulkar saw IDBI thrash Toskin Lads 4-0 ina Gulf Lubricants Div II football tie at the Goan Sports Ground today. Dinkar M and Prakash V completed the tally for IDBI.In another second division match, Milan SC beat Voltas 3-0. Ansari Hadi, Shaikh Irfan and Ansari Haroon scored one each. Bank of Baroda drew with New India Insurance in a First Division match. Both teams failed to score any goals.
