As the BCCI elections loom large, the ruling faction backed by Jagmohan Dalmiya was in for a pleasant surprise today in the form of a temporary relief ahead of the AGM on November 29.
Over seven months after the Chennai-based Theagaraja Club took the BCCI and the ICC to court for Dalmiya’s participation in an ICC meeting that the club argued was illegal, the Madras High Court has dismissed the contempt case filed against Dalmiya, Ranbir Singh Mahendra, ICC boss Ehsan Mani and other cricket officials who attended the meeting back on March 17, 2005, says a press release from Dalmiya’s office.
