Man held for running satta

CHANDIGARH, Nov 17: The CIA Staff of the City police, in anti-gambling raids conducted late tonight, have arrested Sarvan Kumar alias Bhola of Sector 26 on the charges of running Satta.Police sources said that about Rs 2,000 were recovered from his possession. He has been booked under the Gambling Act.

The Sector 26 police have nabbed three proclaimed offenders who, after being charged with assault in April 1995, had reportedly jumped bail last year. "The three Parminder Singh, Pradeep Kumar and Rajinder Kumar had assaulted a resident of Sector 12, Panchkula and broke his arm after which a case was registered," area SHO Inspector Kultar Singh said. He added that the three have been remanded to judicial custody till November 28.
