HYDERABAD, Aug 15: The duo of Dilip Kumar Acharya and Jitendra Rami of Mumbai’s Naval Sailing Club (NSC) today won the sixth race with consummate ease at the Hussain Sagar Lake here and are assured of the Enterprise Class title of the BPL International Laser Open Championships.

With only one race remaining now, champions Dilip Kumar at helm and Rami as crew won all their six races.

The team of Dharmender Singh and Jaji Joseph of Corps of Engineers Sailing Association (CESA), Pune, and the pair from NDA, S Tiwari and RV Jhoyyil, claimed the second and third positions respectively.

In laser standard rig championship, the jury upheld the protest of Nitin Mongia and disqualified R Mahesh for infringement of rules and by not keeping clear of the leeward mark which blocked Nitin Mongia’s path yesterday in the fifth race.

Following protests by the two NSC sailors after the fifth race, the organisers had announced only provisional results yesterday.

Sixth race: Laser Standard Rig: 1. RMahesh (NSC, Mumbai) 1:02.12 2 Nitin Mongia (NSC, Mumbai) 1:05.10; 3. Arjun Pradeepak (SSC) 1:05.14.

OK Dinghy: 1. Purshotham Sharma (EMESA) 1:04.23; 2 Anirudh Vijay Kumar (SSC) 1:10.49.

Laser Radial: 1. Tirumala Rao (SSC); 2 Nisha Shenoy (SSC); 3 Rajesh Choudhary (EMESA).
