CHANDIGARH, Nov 30: GGD SD College, Chandigarh prevailed over Government College of Ludhiana by 2-1 in the Panjab University Inter-College Inter-Zonal hockey men tournament at the Panjab University ground here today. In a closely fought match, Government College Ludhiana were unlucky despite putting up a brave fight. It was GGD SD College which drew the first blood through Navdeep Singh who scored a field goal in the second minute.

Government College of Ludhiana hit back and restore the parity when Kuldeep scored in the 16th minute.

In another match LLR Government College, Dhudike defeated GHG Khalsa College, Gurusar Sadhar by 4-0 after leading 1-0 at half time. Dilbirjani was mainly responsible for Dhudike college as he scored a brace 29th and 59th minutes. Sarabjit Singh 46th, penalty corner and Manbir Singh 61st contributed one goal each for the winners. Amandeep 43rd and Navdeep 64th reduced the margin for GHG Khalsa College, Gurusar Sadhar.

Bhardwaj shines
An unbeaten knock of 52 by Vikram Bhardwaj helped Punjab University Campus beat GGS DAV Cent. College, Jalalabad by eight wickets in the Panjab University Inter-College cricket A Division tournament at the Punjab Engineering College ground.
