
Hindustan Unilever Ltd on Sunday signed an agreement with its workers8217; union leading to the lifting of its 50-day-old lockout in its personal products factory located at Doomdooma in Upper Assam. The factory would now reopen on Monday. A spokesman said the company signed a settlement with leaders of the Hindustan Unilever Personal Products Factory Shramik Sangha following an intervention of the state. The Sangha leaders have extended an 8220;unconditional assurance of good conduct and productive engagement,8221; a company press note said. The Doomdooma factory which has a little over 700 direct employees was shut down following a series of more than 20 work stoppages and illegal strikes launched by the staff during the last one year.
