Leopard carcass found at dam site

The carcass of a full grown leopard was found at the Kalindri dam site, near Kutiyana town in Porbandar district on Thursday. Forest officers have ruled out foul play maintaining that the animal8217;s death was natural.

Forest Officer Kutiyana range V P Thumar said, 8220;The leopard was about 10 years old. There was no sign of any external or internal injury. Besides, all its claws were found intact.8221;

The autopsy could not ascertain the exact cause of the death as the carcass was found perhaps about 24 hours after the death and was deteriorating, he said.

The viscera of the animal has been sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory, Junagadh for a detailed clinical examination.
