The DMK on Wednesday expressed hope that the Left parties would not do anything ‘harmful’ to the UPA government.

“I don’t think they will do anything harmful to this government… I don’t think they will leave room for the communal forces. I hope for a solution. They are our friends,” DMK leader and Shipping and Surface Transport Minister T R Baalu told reporters in New Delhi.

His comment was sought on the possibility of the Left parties withdrawing support to the government if it went ahead with the Indo-US nuclear deal.
