Every time a film poster is released, the transformation an actor has undergone becomes a topic of discussion. For instance, when Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal hit the screens, it became a blockbuster despite facing criticism. The character he portrayed motivated countless men to sculpt their bodies like his. However, according to his trainer, Shivohaam, there’s much more to learn from the actor than simply obsessing over his physique.

Shivohaam shared, “Ranbir Kapoor doesn’t like to look like that [Beast] all the time. He’s very normal right now—he’s a father, a husband, and a son. His transformations were done with a specific purpose for each film. Once the role is over, he moves on, and people should do the same.” He emphasised, “If you want to learn something from Ranbir, it’s his discipline. The man is punctual to the T.”

He went on to share his experiences working with other stars, saying, “I have had amazing experiences with everyone I have worked with—Ram Charan, Amitabh Bachchan, Jacqueline Fernandez. Even at this age, Amitabh Bachchan is always on time, unless he has a meeting.”

Turning back to Ranbir, the trainer continued, “I can count on my fingers the number of times Ranbir has been late. And even if he’s five minutes behind, he always sends a message saying, ‘Sorry, I’m running five minutes late.’ That’s something to learn from and aspire to. He’s a beautiful human being—his body language, the way he speaks… You call him ‘Khandaani’ for a reason. He’s genuine.”

In the same conversation, Shivohaam reflected on the dedication required in the acting profession, emphasising that success doesn’t come easily.

“I remember when I was working with Aamir Khan for Laal Singh Chaddha—it used to take him 2-3 hours to put on the beard and makeup. We trained at 3 AM because after that, he had to sit for makeup and do his shift.” He added, “With Ranbir, if he has a 7 AM shift, he will still make time to train for at least half an hour. We set up a small gym on set so he could train during lunch.”

Shivohaam concluded, “They are not successful because of anything other than their passion and discipline. Luck may favour you for a brief period, but after that, it’s all about what you make of it. People think shooting is glamorous, but it’s not—it’s a lot of hard work.”
