Kannada writer Asha Raghu found dead at Bengaluru residence

A well-known novelist in Kannada literary circles, Asha Raghu had also contributed significantly to the television industry as a dialogue writer and assistant director.

Kannada publisher and writer Asha Raghu, 46, was found dead at her Malleswaram residence in Bengaluru Saturday, in what the authorities described as an unnatural death.

According to the police, Asha’s body was found inside one of the rooms in her house. Family members, who received no response from inside, reportedly broke open the door and found her body, after which the police were alerted.

The Malleswaram police have registered a case of unnatural death and launched a detailed investigation. Following the post-mortem examination, the body was handed over to the family. Further investigation is underway.

A well-known novelist in Kannada literary circles, Asha had also contributed significantly to the television industry as a dialogue writer and assistant director.

She is survived by a daughter. Her husband, K C Raghu, had passed away two years ago, after which she was said to have been struggling with depression. Family members told the police that Asha had been living with her daughter while continuing her professional work.
