During the debate on Tuesday, Speaker Somnath Chatterjee made it clear that he wasn8217;t exactly pleased with the behaviour of Left members in the House. So when the Left members repeatedly intervened and interjected throughout Finance Minister P Chidambaram8217;s speech, he made his displeasure known.
8220;I express strong displeasure with such behaviour8230; Let us follow some decorum, will you keep quiet8230; you are not a disciplined member,8221; he said on one occasion. 8220;You should take lessons from them. They are not disturbed then why are you,8221; he asked some protesting Left members pointing to the quiet BJP benches. CPIM member N N Krishnadas8217;s repeated interjections through the Finance Minister8217;s speech also upset the Speaker.
8220;It is going beyond limit now. I will have to take some action if you behave in such indisciplined manner. Please don8217;t think I will let this continue from any side,8221; said Chatterjee.
When there BSP members raised an uproar during Rahul Gandhi8217;s speech, Chatterjee remarked, 8220;What is happening here? Suddenly people are getting up and speaking. I think it is time for these people to go to the electorate.8221;
When Left member Gurudas Dasgupta demanded that the Speaker immediately take action on the complaint made by BSP members on the CBI threatening MPs to abstain from voting and institute a House committee to investigate the matter here and now, the Speaker just chose to smile and say, 8220;Here and now. Wonderful!.8221;
