
GURASPUR, JUNE 19: Lance Naik Harish Pal, who laid down his life fighting the Pakistani intruders in Drass sector on June 15, was today cremated at Chroli village near Bamial with full state and military honours.
Harish Pal8217;s body was brought to his village from Srinagar last night. The 28-year-old soldier, married 18 months ago, leaves behind a widow. Deputy Commissioner S K Sandhu and District Police Chief Varinder Kumar along with Lt-Col Samra visited the bereaved family and and placed wreaths on the body.Sandhu assured the soldier8217;s wife and brother all the benefits announced by the Punjab government. A village school would be named after Harish Pal and a covering shed constructed in the cremation ground in his memory.
