Sources close to Kumaraswamy said that he has been under stress in the wake of the political developments that swept the state in the last three months when the JD-S-BJP government led-by him collapsed after the BJP pulled out of the alliance in October.

The JD-S is in the grip of rebellion with a section of party men headed by senior leader M P Prakash breaking away from the party.

Unfazed by the developments in his party, Kumaraswamy who celebrated his 49th birthday on Sunday last, has announced plans to launch the JDS8217;s poll campaign on January one.

The state will be facing mid-term polls early next year.
