The Khasi Students Union KSU has suspended 8220;night curfew8221; in Shillong after the Ka Synjuk Ka Seng Longkmie Mothers Union gave the state Government three days to release the 16 KSU activists who have been arrested.

Members of the Mothers Union met Social Welfare Minister and Chairman of the Cabinet Committee of Public Grievances Martle N Mukhim on Monday. Mukhim has made no commitment regarding the release of the KSU activists, but has promised to discuss the issue with the committee. The KSU had called for the curfew8221; to pressurise the Government into releasing its members.
