The high drama and suspense over the constituency being contested by Karnataka Chief Minister S.M. Krishna ended today when he filed his nomination for the Chamarajpet Assembly seat.

Krishna dismissed suggestions that he shifted constituencies because there was an element of doubt regarding his winning from there. ‘‘When votes are counted on May 13, you will see the Congress candidate winning by a resounding majority in Maddur,’’ he said.

Talking to mediapersons, he justified the suspense he maintained in nomination. ‘‘Otherwise, it gets monotonous. If you had known that I would contest From Chamarajpet, where was the suspense, hype and anxiety. Otherwise life becomes dull,’’ he said.

He said the presence of two film actors in the fray along with him would make the elections ‘‘entertaining’’.

He also went on to accuse the BJP-led NDA of discriminating against the non-BJP ruled states and said: ‘‘It is not the way a Central government should function.’’

Minutes after Krishna left, actor Ananthnag arrived to file his nomination as a Janata Dal (Secular) candidate. In all, 14 people have filed nominations for the Chamarajapet Assembly seat.
