AUG 29: Mumbai's Shashikant Kutwal won the 32nd Maharashtra State Selection Chess Tournament, organised by the Nagpur District Chess Association here at the Joshi Mangal Karyalaya on Tuesday.On the top board, Kutwal agreed to split the point with Paranjpe in 28 moves but Soman downed Sushant Banerjee in 41 moves to take his tally to seven points. Pankaj Joshi outclassed G Balaji in 30 moves but Bartakke and Thakur had to struggle hard before earning the crucial seventh point.
