Kosi effect

The Kosi flood in Bihar has worried External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee. Early last week, he called a meeting of high-level officials of the water resources department to remind them about the anti-erosion work on the embankments of the Ganga at Farakka barrage in West Bengal. The anti-erosion work upstream of the Ganga could help those living in the lower riparian regions of Bangladesh as well.
